Landing Zone BUFF was situated on a hilltop about 13 kilometers northwest of

While The Virtual Wall cannot say with absolute certainty that Corporal Mitchell was
killed at LZ BUFF, it is believed to be so.
On 21 May 1966 LZ BUFF was renamed LZ STINSON in honor of LTC William C.
Stinson, Jr., Commanding Officer, 1st Bn, 52nd Infantry, who had been killed in
action on 03 March 1969 during heavy fighting southeast of Tien Phuoc.
